Screening of some newly
Synthesized Transition Metal Carbodithioate Complexes against
Some Pathogenic Microbial Strains Prevalent in Himachal Pradesh,
Shashi Bala Kalia, Department of Chemistry, HPU, Shimla - 5
The
report is based on the study carried out to determine the efficacy
of synthesized metal carbodithioate complexes against the Escherichia
coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus
in vitro by assaying minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC).
The results of the study indicate that complexes are of high purity
and are quite stable in air. The results of the antimicrobial
activity screening studied against above said pathogenic microbes
showed that the ligands and all complexes are potential antimicrobial
agents. The investigations carried out are helpful for pharmaceutical
industries/microbiology laboratories/ toxicological industries,
particularly in Himachal Pradesh and in India too. The study
recommends promotion of science and technology for prevention
of disease and promotion of health and needs to create awareness
about microbial infections.
