Medicinal Plants of Himachal Pradesh, N.S. Chauhan, Department of Forest Products, UHF Nauni, Solan

In this report an attempt has been made to enumerate commercially important plants, unexploited medicinal plants and different categories of plants yielding products of commercial use with their present market rates in Himachal Pradesh. This report concludes that the production, processing and use of medicinal and aromatic plants have a potential for employment generation particularly at village level. The recent emphasis on rural development and particularly on tribal development has shown that medicinal and aromatic plants, if properly utilized, have a prominent role to play in this direction.
