sustainable development for watershed. The study has brought

forest resources;
livestock pressure on land; soil erosion;
land slides; pressure of agricultural as well as horticultural
practices; pressure of developmental activities ( e. g. road construction,
buildings, industries and hydro electric dams etc.) have been
taken up in the study. But the major focus of the study shall
include people’s involvement and their participation and well
as stakeholder’s participation in the development of watershed
and mitigating the environmental degradation in the Himalayan
