Industrialization in Tribal Areas of Himachal Pradesh, Vijay Kumar Sharma, Department of Commerce, HPU.

The objectives of the study were to analyze the growth and pattern of industrial development in tribal areas of Himachal Pradesh; to study the socio-economic features of entrepreneurs in tribal areas and to highlight the major issues of production, marketing, finance and labour of industrial units.  The study has highlighted the problems which entrepreneurs of tribal areas are facing in running and operating their industrial units.  These problems are concerned with technique of production, finance, marketing, labour and raw material.  The study has recommended that there is ample scope for the development and promotion of industries based on indigenous raw material and other resources.  It has also recommended that state government should devise the resource specific industrial development policies and programmes for industrialization of tribal areas in Himachal Pradesh.
