This book is an attempt to highlight the salient features of various schemes launched by the State Government of Himachal Pradesh in tribal area. These schemes/ programmes have been described in detail along with the administrative machinery of rural development in the state. The data was collected from the beneficiaries of these schemes from three tribal districts of the state, i.e. Chamba, Kinnaur an Lahaul-Spiti and have been analyzed in this book. The analysis includes the socio-economic profile of the beneficiaries of tribal areas, impact of these schemes in the development of rural areas, and the problems faced in the implementation of these schemes or programmes.
