Energy Conservation Campaign with CMS VATAVARAN
The Institute in collaboration with CMS VATAVARAN organized Energy Conservation Campaign in the month of June 2010. The Institute was chosen as the Knowledge partner of this event. One of the major objectives of Commonwealth Games 2010 was to create awareness on ‘Low Carbon Practices’ and this campaign was the part of the Commonwealth Games 2010. CMS VATAVARAN alsoorganizedEnvironment and Wildlife Traveling Film Festival & Environment Forum in Shimla city and its theme was Climate Change and Sustainable Technologies. Slogan writing & energy conservation idea competition, street play and short marathon were the main attraction of the campaign. These also acted as a relevant medium for spreading the message on low carbon practices. The Marathon was flagged of by Prof. C.L. Chandan, Prof. S.P. Bansal and Mrs. Madhu Sood. Students from different Government and Private schools, colleges and university participated in the two kilometers short marathon. Nearly 150 participants carrying the placards with slogans on Low Carbon Practices ran from the flagging off point to the destination. Short street play “Bhagirathi Prayas” was presented by the artists of Navnirman Welfare Society for the general public, student and employees of the university.
