Exhibitions
The
Institute participated in the exhibitions being held at Shimla
for wider circulation of its publications.
- The India
International Education Fair for career guidance was held at
the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex on the 24th January 2006. Various
educational Institutes such as University of Petroleum and Energy
Studies, Windsor University Canada, Hotel Management Institute
of Switzerland and others pertaining to medical science, engineering
and computers had their stalls at the Fair. The Indian Air force
stall attracted much attention at the exhibition as did that
of the Institute of Integrated Himalayan Studies which was representing
the Himachal Pradesh University. The fair was inaugurated by
the Vice Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh University, Prof. L.R.
Verma.
- An Exhibition
of books of the faculty of various departments and specialized
centers of Himachal Pradesh University was organized by the
Institute of Integrated Himalayan Studies on the occasion of
the visit of the Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh. The Chief
Minister had been invited to the University for laying the foundation
stone of the Examination block and a multi-faculty building.
The Chief Minister inaugurated the Exhibition organized by the
IIHS research staff and was happy about both the display and
the quality of the work on display.
- Disaster
Management Fair was organized by Mountain Forum Himalayas, at
the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex on 6th October, 2007. An Exhibition
of books /publications of IIHS was organized during the fair.
Smt. Vidya Stokes inaugurated the Exhibition and appreciated
the efforts of the Forum and the institutes engaged in the sustainable
mountain development.
